Wilson Escobar Rodriguez

My name is Wilson Escobar Rodriguez. Since January 2025 I have been retraining as an IT Specialist for System Integration (IHK) at Cimdata Bildungsakademie GmbH in Berlin. After many years in hospitality — mostly in customer-facing roles — I bring what that work teaches: clear communication, composure under pressure, and reliability in a team.

Technology has been with me for a long time, especially installing operating systems and getting them to work with hardware and peripherals. Linux taught me how to bring older machines back to life — it still feels like technology waking up again.

I am currently completing my mandatory internship with the Linux team at Computer Manufaktur GmbH in Berlin-Charlottenburg, turning theory into practice step by step, focused on networks, servers, and careful troubleshooting. I have completed Linux Essentials (LPI); CompTIA Network+ and the IHK exams are next.

At home I practise daily in my home lab: a small Proxmox cluster, monitoring with Checkmk, my own DNS zone with BIND9, network-wide filtering with Pi-hole, and automation with Ansible. I document every step — including the mistakes, because that is where I learn most.
